Man charged with dangerous driving, negligent driving after child injured in Kingsford pedestrian crash
A teen driver has been charged with dangerous driving after a child was seriously injured when he was hit by a car and pinned to a tree for 40 minutes in Sydney’s east.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged after a child was allegedly struck by a car and seriously injured in Sydney’s east yesterday.
He has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous, and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
At 3.40pm emergency services raced to the intersection of Gardeners Rd and Bunnerong Rd in Kingsford following reports a car had mounted a footpath.
A 12-year-old boy had been pinned between the car and a tree at the intersection before he was freed by the Police Rescue Squad 40 minutes later.
He was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
The 17-year-old driver was uninjured and was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for assessment under police guard.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta local court on Wednesday.
