Police hunt two men in a small light coloured car in connection with a shooting in Belmore

A YOUNG man is being treated for gunshot wounds to his leg and shoulder after a shooting incident in Belmore.

A 21-YEAR-OLD man remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital after suffering gunshot wounds in Belmore yesterday.

Police inquiries are continuing into the incident which is believed to have occurred on St Clair St involving two men who were travelling in a small white or light coloured car.

The car was last seen driving north on St Clair St heading towards Albert St. The victim then made his way to Redman Lane.

Police were called to the lane at 4.35pm and found the man with gunshot wounds to his leg and shoulder. He was treated by paramedics and taken to St George Private Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

COURTS GO SOFT ON SERIOUS GUN CRIME

Campsie detectives are investigating and forensic offices are examining the crime scene.
