THOUSANDS of homes will be introduced in yet another masterplanned community in Sydney’s northwest, following the State Government’s release of the Marsden Park North precinct.
A total of 6200 new homes will be built in the community over the next 20 years.
Planning Minister Anthony Roberts revealed the plan included three new local centres, a primary school and a pedestrian and cycle network “to access environmental conservation areas, new playing fields and open space”.
“Three new local centres throughout the Marsden Park North precinct, along with the commercial area along Richmond Rd, will provide the community with shops, cafes, community facilities and local jobs,” Mr Roberts said.
“Residents will benefit from 13 brand new playing fields and more usable open space proposed for the area. The new playing fields, public parks and the local centres will be easily accessible via new pathways and cycleways.”
The draft masterplan, which provides 13 new playing fields and parks across 57ha, highlighting a focus on creeks and bushland, will also include road upgrades and a new arterial road.
Planning documents state the precinct will be serviced by the Sydney Metro network — with the closest station being Tallawong at Rouse Hill — while encouraging the use of the new network of cycleways.
Riverstone state Liberal MP Kevin Conolly said the precinct would become part of the proposed new suburbs of Angus, Marsden Park and Vineyard.
