A man has been charged with a string of animal cruelty offences after police allege he tortured and killed a family cat in Sydney’s north west last year,
Nicholas Alexander Frederick Taylor, 41, of Quakers Hill, faces one count or causing severe pain and torture, causing death, and another of committing an act of animal cruelty on the pet cat at its home in The Ponds in December 2019.
Police allege Mr Taylor tortured the cat outside a home on Mallard Dr just after 9pm on December 10.
“(Mr Taylor) did torture, beat and maul the victim’s cat, causing suffering to the animal which resulted in death,” police allegations in documents tendered to the court read.
He was excused from appearing when his matter was mentioned at Blacktown Local Court on Monday.
He is yet to enter a plea to the charges.
The matter will return to court on June 1.
