Peter Mellander: RSPCA allegedly intimidated by Arndell Park man
A man charged over allegedly hindering an RSPCA inspector while they tried to seize his sick pet cat will fight the charges in court.

A man charged over allegedly intimidating and stealing the car keys of an RSPCA inspector when they tried to seize his cat, will fight the charges.
Peter Mellander, 56, faces four charges of failing to provide vet treatment to his domestic shorthair cat for nose cancer, dental disease, emaciation and fleas.
The RSPCA alleges Mr Mellander did not get treatment for the cat for one month between September and October 2019.
According to court documents, RSPCA inspectors attended an Arndell Park premises at about 11.45am on October 22 and attempted to seize the cat.
It’s alleged as a female inspector was removing the cat from the premises, Mr Mellander stole her car keys to prevent her from driving away.
Police allege Mr Mellander intimidated the inspector with a weapon, causing her to fear for her safety.
Mr Mellander pleaded not guilty to a string of charges, including using an offensive weapon, larceny and intimidation, during a brief appearance at Blacktown Local Court today.
The matter will return to court for hearing on June 22.
