ERIN Pridmore’s footballing stocks are on the rise given her phenomenal performance as the skipper of the Australian Schoolgirls football team on their recent tour of Britain.
The Kellyville centre back enjoyed her debut as skipper of the Australian side specially as this was the first time the schoolgirls were undefeated on tour, winning six and drawing two matches against their British and Irish rivals.
“It was an experience I will never forget,” the former William Clarke College student said.
“I learnt so much from our opposition teams, and my teammates.
“We played against quality sides, including the Ireland under-19 national team, and it was great to see the different style of football all the teams played.
“Playing in minus five degree temperatures was a struggle at first but my team adapted to the cold quickly.
“The highlight of the tour was definitely going through undefeated.
“And we couldn’t have done it without the support of our coach David O’Keefe, and manager Sally Wilson.
“Another big highlight was watching Manchester United play their FA Cup game at Old Trafford stadium.”
Pridmore, 18, who scored in the opening tour match against England independent Schools, plays for North West Sydney Koalas first grade women’s team in the National Premier League 1.
She also skippered the NSW team at the schools nationals.
