Disqualified driver allegedly caught speeding at 190km/h in 80km/h zone

A 23-YEAR-OLD man driving a BMW was stopped on Richmond Rd at Marsden Park about 1.20am on Sunday, January 1, after he allegedly overtook an unmarked Highway Patrol car driving at 190km/h in a 80km/h zone.

A 23-YEAR-OLD MAN driving a BMW was stopped on Richmond Rd at Marsden Park about 1.20am on Sunday, January 1, after he allegedly overtook an unmarked Highway Patrol car driving at 190km/h in a 80km/h zone. The disqualified driver was breath tested and returned a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he allegedly returned a reading of 0.194. The man was charged with high range drink driving, drive manner dangerous, exceed speed over 45km/h and drive while disqualified. He was bailed to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday, February 16.

ROUSE HILL: A woman allegedly walked out of a store in Main St, Rouse Hill at 5pm on Saturday with a 102cm (40 inch) television without paying for it. CCTV footage shows a woman aged between 35 and 45 years old, with brown hair in a bun walking out of the store with the TV in a trolley. The LED TV was worth $449. The woman was wearing a floral shirt and blue jeans. On Sunday someone stole three pairs of shoes worth a total of $270 from a shop in Main St on between 10.30am and 11.30am. Staff reported the theft after noticing three empty shoe boxes.

GLENWOOD: QUAKERS Hill Local Area Command report an increase in the number of thefts from motor vehicles and malicious damage offences in Glenwood during the holiday period with incidents reported in Currawong St, Valis Rd, Diamond Ave, Hungerford Dr, Malvern Rd and Carrowbrook Ave. Police said most of the cars that have been broken into have been left unlocked and advised residents to lock their vehicles at all times.

Residents are reminded to make sure their vehicles are locked and parked in well lit areas. Police say thieves are opportunistic and wander the streets, trying car door handles until they find a vehicle that is unlocked. If you see any suspicious vehicles and/or persons in your street, call the police immediately —000 in an emergency or Riverstone Police Station on 9838 2199. If you discover your car has been broken into, call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.

KELLYVILLE: A not so friendly Santa was at work when $250 in cash was stolen from a wallet at a home in Tremain Ave, Kellyville. The thief entered the house between 11.40pm on Christmas Eve and 12.15am Christmas Day.

KELLYVILLE: Kitchen equipment worth about $5000 was stolen from a building under construction in Wattleridge Cres, Kellyville, over the Christmas and New Year break. Stolen were two ovens, two cooktops and two range hoods. The theft was discovered on January 4.

BEAUMONT HILLS: A selection of power tools were stolen by thieves who broke into a toolbox on the back of a utility on Thursday, January 5. The theft happened at 4.20am in Benson Rd, Beaumont Hills.

KELLYVILLE RIDGE: A 17-year-old male was assaulted and headbutted by unknown people in the car park of the McDonald’s cafe near Ettamogah Hotel at 1.30am on Sunday, January 8. The teen was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment after getting his front teeth knocked out. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

QUAKERS HILL: A 32-year-old man was lucky to escape with minor wounds after being punched in the head by a 55-year-old male and hitting his head on the road during an alleged fight between neighbours at 5.30pm at Kuta Place, Quakers Hill, on Friday, January 6. The younger man was taken to Westmead Hospital with police saying the injuries were not serious. Police said inquiries are continuing and no charges have been laid at this stage.

KELLYVILLE: Police are making inquiries about a motorcycle registered to a Kellyville address following a police pursuit on Christmas Day. Highway police were on Old Northern Rd, Dural at 3.55pm on December 25 when they allegedly saw a motorcyclist reach a speed of 140km/h in a 60km/h zone. Police allegedly terminated the pursuit because of the speed. They are following inquiries regarding the registered owner.

WINDSOR: A 48-year-old South Penrith woman has had her licence suspended after allegedly testing positive to the presence of methamphetamine in Windsor. Police said a random road side test on January 4 was positive resulting in the woman being arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station for further testing. Pending the result of a laboratory analysis, the woman faces a criminal conviction on appearing before the Windsor Local Court. Police urge members of the community to take care and accept the responsibilities associated with driving on our roads.

KELLYVILLE: A backpack was stolen from the front seat of a Holden Barina, driven by a 22-year-old woman, who had stopped at the intersection at Windsor Rd and Memorial Ave, Kellyville at 11.15pm on Sunday, January 8. The woman told police a man opened the side door of her car and grabbed the backpack from the seat before rushing off into the bush. Police inquiries are continuing. Police advise motorists to keep their doors locked while driving and be aware of their surroundings.

THE PONDS: A woman, 35, from The Ponds, banned from Bunnings, has been fined for larceny and trespass after she was stopped at the Rouse Hill store on Saturday. Police allege that she contravened a banning order and also left without paying for an item worth $42. The item was recovered.

KELLYVILLE: A vehicle veered off the road and slammed into a light pole on Green Rd, Kellyville last Wednesday afternoon flattening the pole and wrecking the ute. Kellyville and Castle Hill firefighters established an exclusion zone around the still live pole and called for the electricity company to attend to carry out repairs to make the area safe. Fire crews cleaned up an oil spillage and the driver of the ute was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

STANHOPE GARDENS: Fire and Rescue trucks raced to the scene of a van on fire at Ponytail drive Stanhope Gardens on December 29 just after 2pm. When they arrived they were faced with a mini van that was engulfed in flames that were quickly spreading to a nearby yard. As they got their hoses in position to douse the fire it became apparent that there was an LPG cylinder in the van that was venting — shooting pressurized flames out of the van. The dangerous situation was bought under control and the final extinguishment was assisted by a back up crew from Schofields. No one was injured and the cause of the blaze is being investigated.
