An customer at Costco’s Marsden Park warehouse in Sydney’s northwest has tested positive to COVID-19.
An email sent to staff confirmed a store member had been infected with the virus and had shopped at the store on Sunday, July 19.
The customer is understood to have visited the store between 11am and 2pm.
“We are committed to informing you as soon as we become aware of these cases,” the email read.
A social media post in a Facebook group for the store has advised the customer did not use a trolley and had only been at the store for a short period of time.
Anyone with symptoms is encouraged to get tested for the virus.
There has been no mention of store closures.
The case comes less than a week after an employee at the nearby IKEA distribution centre in Marsden Park tested positive to coronavirus after being linked to the Crossroads Hotel cluster in Casula.
Staff at the warehouse were advised on July 13 that a colleague had contracted the virus and had worked morning shifts while infectious on the July 6, 7 and 8.
An IKEA spokeswoman said a deep clean of the unit was undertaken following the alert.
A COVID-19 case was also linked to Westfield Mt Druitt after a shopper who visited the centre on Saturday tested positive for the virus.
NSW Health has advised anyone who visited the centre on Saturday, July 18, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm to monitor for symptoms and to get tested immediately if any should arise.
The case is linked to the growing Thai Rock Restaurant cluster at Stockland Mall in Wetherill Park.
More details as they come to hand.
