Blacktown City Family SportsFest scores big with children at Stanhope Gardens

THERE were plenty of outstanding action at the Blacktown City Family SportsFest on Saturday, with star power provided by a host of individuals and teams from 25 sports.

THERE were plenty of outstanding action at the Blacktown City Family SportsFest on Saturday, with star power provided by a host of individuals and teams from 25 sports.

Former NBA legend Bruce Bolden, Bondi Rescue’s Anthony Harries Carroll, the Australian rhythmical gymnastic team and the roller derby platers joined the multi sports displays and clinics at Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope.

“SportsFest was a day full of fun and sport with the community able to try out and get information on a variety of clinics,” a Blacktown Venue Management spokeswoman said.

There were interactive sports displays from the AFL, cricket, basketball, gymnastics, hockey, baseball, rugby, rugby league, swimming, football, wheelchair sports, netball, roller derby and bikes run by state or local organisations.
