Bella Vista is one of the eight stations on the Sydney Metro Northwest line which will have these hefty escalators installed.

The balance 40 escalators will be installed at the Cudgegong Rd, Rouse Hill, Hill, Cherrybrook, Kellyville, Showground and Norwest stations in the coming months.

The escalators, which weigh 25 tonnes and are eight metres high, will connect the station platform to the platform below.

Each escalator takes two days to install with the one in Bella Vista completed in mid-April.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian told a Sydney Hills Business Chamber lunch the previous week that she loved watching the progress in The Hills, in particular the Sydney Metro North West rail link, saying the “short-term pain” of construction would reap rewards.

“You have earned it,” Ms Berejiklian said.
