A Penrith couple say they’re “pinching themselves” after winning almost $2 million in Saturday Lotto.

The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, held one of two division one winning entries in the draw of December 7, taking home a cash prize of $1,962,497.08.

The winning couple purchased their winning entry at Southlands Newsagency in Penrith in South Penrith.

The newly retired pair said they couldn’t believe their good fortune.

“We just checked the ticket,” the winning woman said.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes – it was such a shock to the system.

“I told my husband to pinch me because I thought I was dreaming.

“It certainly still hasn’t sunk in – we both feel very lucky.

“We’ve always played the exact same numbers, and I can’t believe they came up this time.

“We’re so excited.”

The couple said they couldn’t wait to see the money hit their bank account, and said there would be big changes to their retirement plans.

“We’ll help out the kids, and maybe buy a new caravan,” they said.

“It still doesn’t feel real at the moment, so we really aren’t sure about the rest. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

The winning numbers in Saturday’s draw were 16, 30, 1, 13, 25, and 32, while the supplementary numbers were 17 and 22.
