A man has faced court over allegations he was behind a robbery in which a store worker was threatened with a knife.

A man faced court after allegedly threatening a store employee with a knife.
Nganeko Luke appeared before Penrith Local Court via audiovisual link on Wednesday following the alleged incident on Tuesday evening.
His lawyer did not apply for bail before Magistrate Stephen Corry.
Police alleged in a release to media that the man allegedly entered Petra Mart on Lord Sheffield Circuit at 6.05pm and threatened an employee with a knife.
He allegedly demanded money, cigarettes and the employee’s mobile phone before fleeing towards Penrith Train Station where he allegedly boarded a train to Kingswood.
Police were contacted and, following inquiries, spoke to the 18-year-old man at Kingswood train station.
Searching him, police allegedly found money, cigarettes and e-cigarettes inside a black backpack.
Luke was arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
The Blacktown man will remain in custody until his next court date after he was formally refused bail in Penrith Local Court.
He will face court again in early March.
