A man is in hospital with serious injuries after the jet ski he was riding collided with another on the Nepean River, southwest of Penrith.
Police said the two jet skis — a blue WaveRunner and a yellow Sea Doo — were on the Nepean River at Leonay, about 1.2km south of the M4 bridge, when they collided about 6.40pm on Sunday, leaving the rider of the former seriously injured.
A spokesman for the NSW Ambulance Service said paramedics were called to the scene at River Rd at 6.45pm, when they treated a man in his 30s for leg injuries.
He said the man was out of the water by the time paramedics arrived.
The injured rider was then taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition with a suspected broken leg.
Police, who are now investigating the incident, have urged any witnesses to contact either St Marys Police or Nepean Police in Penrith.
