Leon Catania: Werrington man allegedly filmed naked underage girls

A Werrington man is facing a string of sexual assault charges after he allegedly filmed videos of naked girls, indecently assaulted a child and filmed a sex act without a woman’s consent.

A western Sydney man is facing a string of sex offences after he allegedly filmed videos of naked underage girls and indecently assaulted another.

Police allege the offending of Leon Anthony Catania, 48, took place over more than five years at several locations in Werrington and Silverdale.

The Werrington man was arrested in August last year and is yet to enter pleas to a string of charges including three counts of producing child abuse material.

Court documents allege Catania recorded videos of a naked 13-year-old girl on two separate occasions and also filmed a further video of a 16-year-old girl while she was using the toilet.

Police said the alleged footage captured the girl’s buttocks and genitals.

It’s alleged Catania had sexual intercourse with a girl without her consent and indecently assaulted her on another occasion, touching her genitals through her underwear in addition to her breasts.

Police further allege Catania recorded intimate images of two girls on separate occasions. In the first instance, it’s alleged he recorded an image of a female engaged in a private act, without her consent.

Police allege Catania also filmed himself having sex with another female without her consent.

He will face Penrith Local Court again in February.
