Kent Smedblom of Richmond pleads guilty to high range PCA at Castlereagh
A P-plater returned an alcohol reading three times the legal limit after he was pulled over for speeding 113km/h on a western Sydney road.

A red P-plater was pulled over for travelling at 113km/hin an 80 zone - before going on to blow almost three times the legal alcohol limit.
Kent Smedblom, 31, of Richmond, fronted Penrith Local Court on Tuesday where he pleaded guilty to one count of high range drink driving.
Agreed facts state at midnight on June 11 Smedblom caught the attention of police by travelling 113 k/ph in an 80 zone on Castlereagh Rd at Castlereagh.
After being pulled over Smedblom - who was “glassy eyed and smelling strongly of liquor” - showed police a P1 provisional licence before taking part in a positive breath test.
He was then taken to Penrith police station where further breath analysis revealed a reading of 0.162g of alcohol in 210 litres of breath.
At the time Smedblom told police he had been drinking from 4pm to 11.50 pm the previous evening, during which he consumed five cans of pre-mixed Vodka drinks branded ‘196’.
After entering a guilty plea, Smedblom told the court he was seeking an adjournment for legal advice and was hoping to receive Legal Aid.
He will return to court for sentencing on August 1.
