A woman, alleged to have been one half of a drug dealing de facto duo accused of supplying cocaine throughout western Sydney has faced court, a week after her partner was sentenced

Kayla Camelo, 22 of Jordan Springs, appeared in Penrith Local Court on Friday on charges of participating in and contributing to criminal group activity, drug supply and ongoing drug supply.

Police allege Camelo, and her cousin Wajih-Anthony Francis, 26, were involved in a drug ring which supplied cocaine to Merrylands, Jordan Springs, Woodcroft, Merrylands, Riverstone, Bella Vista and Emu Plains.

Francis is charged with six counts of drug supply, knowingly direct criminal activity and drug possession.

On nine different occasions between June and July last year, Camelo allegedly enlisted the help of her de facto partner Deakin Hargreaves to carry out deliveries with her

Hargreaves, who pleaded to guilty to two counts of drug supply and possession/using of a weapon without a permit, sold about 10.8g of cocaine in total, and would co-ordinate and negotiate prices with buyers by taking the control phone with him on runs according to police facts tendered on his sentence.

In July 2021, the couple were travelling in a white Toyota Corolla on Londonderry Rd when they were apprehended and arrested by police, who were investigating drug supply in western Sydney, said court documents tendered on Hargreaves sentencing.

Court documents state Hargreaves, when interviewed by police officers, said he thought he received about $20-$25 for each bag of cocaine he delivered and had made about $18,000 from his involvement in the syndicate.

Kayla Camelo and Wajih-Anthony Francis remain on bail.

Deakin Hargreaves was sentenced to two 12-month community corrections orders and fined $1500 for weapon possession.
