Darren Peachy, Greg Brain: Alleged cocaine dealers face court

The inner workings of an alleged commercial cocaine syndicate have been revealed in court after a second man was charged with supplying large quantities of drugs to street dealers.

An accused drug dealer was allegedly supplied cocaine to on-sell as part of a large-scale syndicate from the son of a former police sergeant.

Darren Wayne Peachy, 37, faced Penrith Local Court on Thursday on more than a dozen charges, including commercial drug supply.

Police allege Peachy was part of a drug supply syndicate operating across Sydney and interstate under the guise of alleged kingpin Gregory Raymond Brain.

Brain, 35, of Cambridge Park, was charged with drug supply in March after police allegedly found more than half a million dollars in cash in the boot of his car in February.

During a prior court appearance, the police prosecutor alleged Brain worked with Peachy, a lower-level dealer, to supply drugs to street dealers.

“It was a relatively sophisticated cocaine supply operation with Brain being the effective principal who was on-supplying another gentleman, Peachy, who was on-supplying in his area,” the prosecution alleged.

Police allege they had evidence of intercepted text messages and phone calls between Peachy and Brain, in addition to physical surveillance of drug exchanges.

Peachy did not apply for bail, while Brain was refused bail during an earlier application, with his father, a former sergeant with NSW Police, and mother, offering $6 million in surety for his release.

Peachy faces thirteen charges, including three counts of commercial and large commercial drug supply, nine of ongoing drug supply and one of participating in a criminal group.

The men will face court again in August.
