Core9 Penrith: Gym opens, offers classes every 3.5 minutes

After just four days, a revolutionary gym was forced to close due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, the fitness hub is helping people break out of lockdown with classes every 3.5 minutes.

A revolutionary gym founded by an extreme endurance athlete decided to call Penrith home in June when, just four days after opening for the first time, were shut down as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nevertheless, Core9 Penrith jumped right out of lockdown on October 11 and has since boasted impressive levels of interest and engagement.

“Since opening on October 11, we have been inundated with more than 800 inquiries,” Core9 founder Craig Arnold said.

“In just five weeks, over 130 people have already commenced their fitness journey with Core9.”

Michael Woellner and Jack Jeffrey, owners of the Penrith Core9 branch, are convinced that the gym’s foolproof 3.5 minute model will cater to the needs of busy Penrith locals.

“Unlike other training studios with fixed class times, Core9 has a revolving class time with classes starting every 3.5 minutes so you can never be late or miss a class again,” Mr Woellner said.

Running classes every three minutes may sound too good to be true but it’s apparent these guys know what they’re doing.

Ex-national gymnast and former Adventure Racing World Championships captain Craig Arnold completed a 36-day crossing of the Northern Patagonian ice cap, a 40km trek through Saudi Arabia and scaled Mt Kosciuszko.

Core9’s success draws from Mr Arnold’s expertise and the award-winning program he’s co-developed.

“Core9 runs a new revolutionary 31 minute workout everyday built on the founder’s background in gymnastics, kickboxing and military discipline and training techniques,” Mr Arnold explained.

The gym claims it can mirror a level of attention similar to that of a personal trainer.

“Trainers stay with you the entire way, continuously guiding you through the workout, correcting your technique and most importantly keeping you on track and accountable,” Mr Arnold said.

Mr Arnold urged people to reconsider how they spend their time.

“The average human now spends less than 1 per cent of their entire life exercising yet 41 per cent of it is spent engaging with technology. Furthermore, 27.9 per cent of our waking hours are spent sitting down at home or at work.”

To remedy this predicament, Mr Woellner and Mr Jeffrey have a special offer for the people of Penrith.

“To help get the community back on their feet, Core9 is offering the community of Penrith free 31 minute full body workouts with our qualified trainers every Saturday till Saturday December 18. All shapes, sizes and fitness levels are welcome,” Mr Woellner said.
