Firefighters contain blaze in Castlereagh near Penrith
An 80ha bushfire in Castlereagh and Londonderry near Penrith, has been contained but Rural Fire Service volunteers are still warning residents to be on alert.

Fire crews have contained a bush fire which was burning out of control in Castlereagh and Londonderry near Penrith.
Rural Fire Service volunteers are still fighting the 80 hectare blaze east of Fire Trail Rd, south of Devlin Rd, with the fire having now being downgraded from emergency status. RFS are still warning residents in Tickner St, Devlin Rd and Richards Rd to act now and take shelter as the fire is getting closer to homes.
Residents around Nutt, Londonderry, Boscobel, and Spencer roads, and Studley and Emily streets, have also been advised to put their bush fire survival plan into action.
The fire is now moving in an north easterly direction towards Nutt Rd, 11km from the Penrith CBD.
It is believed the fire started this morning and is producing a large amount of smoke, which can be seen kilometres away from the scene.
In a statement, the RFS said crews are on the scene and firefighters are being assisted by waterbombing aircraft, including the Large Air Tanker.
“The fire is burning in Very High fire danger conditions and under these conditions, fires can be difficult to control.”
