A Bondi man who is before the courts over serious sexual assault charges has been barred from entering the Blue Mountains area.

The 48 year old man — who cannot be named for legal reasons — appeared in Penrith Local Court charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of sexual touching without consent and one charge relating to breaching an apprehended violence order.

The man, who is on bail, pleaded guilty to breaching the AVO on November 4 and on Friday was sentenced to a conditional release order without conviction.

With the assistance of a Japanese interpreter, the court heard the man had contacted the victim by sending them money through a bank transfer, which he did not understand was a breach of the court order.

In recording the non-conviction Magistrate Fiona Toose reinstated the man was not to have any further contact with the victim and the order remained in place.

He has not yet entered a plea for the four other charges.

Police allege in July 2021 at Blaxland, the man had non-consensual sex with the alleged victim, who he knew had not consented.

It is also alleged the man sexually touched the same person without their consent on three separate occasions in September, October and December last year.

He was granted bail on June 28 under the condition he resides in Bondi Beach and does not to enter the Blue Mountains area.

The charges will return to Penrith Local Court on January 23.
