Alicia Broadhurst facing two fresh assault charges

A police officer accused of accessing or modifying restricted data and allegedly assaulting two people in western Sydney is facing two fresh charges.

A policewoman accused of assaulting two people in an Emu Plains home has been slapped with two fresh charges.

Alicia Marie Broadhurst, 36, of Spring Farm, first appeared in court last April on two counts of common assault, stalk or intimidate with intent to cause fear, and accessing or modifying restricted data held in a computer.

Since then, Ms Broadhurst has been charged with two further counts of common assault. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Alicia Broadhurst first appeared in Penrith Local Court last April on four charges. Two charges have been added since then.

Police will allege in court Ms Broadhurst assaulted Christopher Mills and Holly Murdoch inside an Emu Plains home on January 5 last year.

They will also allege Ms Broadhurst intimidated Ms Murdoch before accessing information about her, including motor vehicle and private registration details, while knowing the access was unauthorised.

Ms Broadhurst also allegedly assaulted Mr Mills two more times in 2019 in Emu Plains and Auburn.

Her lawyer Robert Candelori told Magistrate Bree Chisholm her hearing would likely have to be extended beyond three days as they had received new material regarding the two new charges.

Alicia Broadhurst will appear in Parramatta Local Court later this week to set a new hearing date after her February hearing at Penrith Local Court was vacated.

Mr Candelori said he preferred to keep a hearing date in February rather than delay the hearing, however Magistrate Chisholm said that could create problems.

“Usually a hearing of five days may not have been listed in this complex,” she said.

“The risk of not losing the February date is (having the hearing) going over part-heard, and you may not get another date for six months.”

Magistrate Chisholm vacated the hearing date and moved the hearing to Parramatta Local Court.

Ms Broadhurst will next appear on January 15 to fix a new hearing date.
