Where can you find the best pizza around Parramatta

As part of the Postcode Pride series Parramatta Advertiser is searching for the best pizza in the western Sydney. Have your say!

What is the best pizza in the western suburbs? You tell us.

There is no right or wrong way to eat pizza, but there are plenty of right and wrong places. Luckily, the west has a bunch of top notch pizzerias, from authentic wood-fired wonders to cheesy treats that pay homage to the classics. We have listed seven of our favourite, but it’s up to you to say which is the best. See our list below.

Al-Karm Bakery, Merrylands

They are big and they are cheesy, Al-Karm on Excelsior St is one of those places where you will wait in that tiny restaurant to get your hands on the largest and tastiest pizzas that have ever graced mankind. What do they do to it to make it so tasty? Who knows, but when those pies come out of the conveyor belt oven they become magical. Is the chef in the kitchen a wizard, possibly, will the thought of witchcraft stop anyone from ordering, definitely not.

Romano’s Pizza and Pasta, North Parramatta

Have you ever seen a slice of pizza that makes you weep with gratitude? If you’ve been to Romano’s you have. The pizzas are an artistic delight. Peppperonis in perfect order with slices of tomato spaced between. There is no greater joy than pizza symmetry.

Pizzeria Italiana, South Wentworthville

Spicy Santa Maria pizzas are the best at Pizzeria Italiana. You’ll know you’re in the right place because of the adorable red Vespa out the front, just like in Italy!

Yum Yum Bakery, Guildford

It might be Lebanese but they can still do pizza. The meat based pizza (just minced meat, no frills but delicious) also counts. Spritz a bit of lemon and you have yourself a meaty treat that would make any diehard pizza fan happy.

Frank & Dino’s, Greystanes

Do you want pasta on your pizza? At Frank & Dino’s you got it. What about Barramundi? They can do that too. The family run business is a must for Greystanes locals, but if you haven’t made a journey to the little slice of heaven are you even a pizza fan?

Enzo’s Cucina, Northmead

Enzo’s is a mainstay for quality and consistent pizza. There a little bags of magic on the menu as well, like the sausage and truffle oil pizza and the slow cooked lamb with feta cheese. There are no bad choices at Enzo’s.

Vulcano Pizzeria, Dundas Valley

A thin crispy base and plenty of toppings. Vulcano’s does what it knows well, and what it knows is pizza. It is probably what it’s like to eat a pizza inside the Colosseum in Rome but without the jet lag.

HAVE YOUR SAY! None of these pizza places float your boat? Let us know.
