Victim remembered as teen charged with stabbing murder
A ‘CHEEKY’ friend with a heart of gold. Tinorei Henry is being remembered for his bear hugs after his stabbing death in Sydney’s west.

AT 20 years old Tinorei “Tino” Henry was known as a gentle giant. The Arthur Phillip High School alum was stabbed and killed after two brawls broke out in the centre of Parramatta on Saturday.
Police were called to Prince Alfred Square at 4.30am on Saturday when a group of people were involved in an altercation. Once at the scene, the brawlers fled, according to police running in every direction from the square.
Less than half an hour later a small contingent of the two groups met again on Fitzwilliam St where Mr Henry was stabbed in the chest, later dying at Westmead Hospital. Police were called to the spot at 5.05am.
Cousin Tatiana Grieg shared her heartbreak over the death.
“Your handsome giant young self and cheeky smile and loving bear hugs, my bruv will be forever missed,” she said.
“Tino was a handsome humble whole hearted young man, full of life,” she said.
“A man that would always put others before him especially we his family, his heart full of endless love and kindness, he never failed to show to all.”
Ms Grieg described her younger cousin as cheeky, bright and unforgettable, the family now in tatters.
“It breaks and saddens all our hearts that our baby little Tino has been taken from us so sudden.
“We will miss you, but will always be thinking of you,” she said.
Superintendent Julie Boon said Mr Henry’s death is linked to the earlier Prince Albert Square fight, and police confirmed that improvised weapons were found in proximity to the arrests.
“Police are looking into the relationship between the parties, whether they knew each other or not. At this stage, that’s unknown,” she said.
A line search conducted by police in Prince Alfred Square has not found any knives that may have been used during the brawl.
“Police have been searching the area (on Sunday) morning for any objects and items that could be used as weapons,” Supt. Boon said.
Two people also presented with injuries during the arrest, with one needing stitches to the back of his head and another with an injured eye and gash on his leg.
Within minutes of the stabbing a teenager and a 20-year-old were arrested and charged, on Harris St on the Hassall St intersection, 100m away from the crime scene. the teen, a 17-year-old, was charged with murder and refused bail. The 20-year-old man was charged with affray and granted conditional bail, he will reappear at Parramatta court on October 31.
An outpouring of grief has followed the news of Mr Henry’s death, with family and friends from Sydney and the Cook Islands sharing their sadness.
“I met you when I first moved to Australia one of the most loyal brothers you’ll ever meet. Gone too soon,” Clinton Junior wrote.
“Been thinking about him a lot. Still can’t believe that any human have a right to do this to him,” Kura Ngametua said.
“MAY JUSTICE BE SERVED in the eye of the beholder. He did not deserve this crap,” Charlene Tepaki said.
Police are calling on witnesses to either the Prince Alfred Square or Fitzwilliam St altercations to come forward. Hoping witnesses will be able to piece together the timeline for the morning attacks. For information contact Parramatta police station on 9633 0799.
