Rap megastar Nicki Minaj has been announced as the headliner for Parramatta’s music festival FOMO.
It will be the first time Minaj makes a festival appearance in Australia, joining fellow rap alums Rae Sremmurd and Lil Pump as 2019 headliners.
Minaj has won four Billboard Music Awards and 10 BET Awards, as well as 10 Grammy Award nominations since bursting onto the music scene in 2007.
The festival will be setting up in Parramatta Park on January 12 next year. Minaj will also co-headline the NickHndrxx Tour with rapper Future. The tour will feature more than 50 locations across Europe and North America starting in February or early May.
Minaj recently released her fourth studio album Queen in August and will be in the country at the same time as her counterpart Cardi B, who is scheduled to appear at Field Day in The Domain on New Year’s Day.
The duo behind Rae Sremmurd, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, burst onto the hip-hop scene in 2015 with their debut album SremmLife. Their followup album SremmLife 2 reached multi-platinum and gained dozens of nominations for their song Black Beatles and No Type.
