A man who was stabbed multiple times at his Toongabbie home has died.

Emergency service workers found the 49-year-old man outside the Budgeree Rd house with several stab wounds to his chest when they raced to the site just before 10.30pm following reports the man had been stabbed.

Police descend on the scene at Wentworth Ave, near the scene of the crime.

He died on the scene.

Neighbours, who wished not to be named, said the man had lived in the street a long time.

Other neighbours were concerned about the incident in the family-friendly street.

“This is a very quiet street, there’s never any issues,” Shivani Desai said.

“Our kids play outside in the evening.”

Her neighbour Nisha Mulani arrived home three hours after the fatality.

“We saw police after 1.30 after we came from a friend’s house,’’ she said.

Parramatta police and Homicide Squad detectives have door knocked the neighbourhood while firefighters also visited the crime scene.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
