Teen charged after Ferrari, Mercedes, Ford Ranger allegedly stolen at Drummoyne

A 17-year-old boy will front court on Friday after three luxury cars were allegedly stolen during an aggravated break-in at Drummoyne on Thursday.
Police allege five males broke into a home at St Georges Cres about 1am and stole car keys and cash before fleeing in a Mercedes G63, a Ferrari 458 and a Ford Ranger that were parked in the garage.
Just before 11am, Cumberland cops saw a Ferrari and Mercedes on Sandra St, Woodpark, where the cars allegedly accelerated away, sparking a south-bound pursuit.
Police halted the pursuit after they lost sight of the vehicles on Sackville St, Fairfield Heights.
More cops were deployed to assist and, a short time later, sighted the Ferrari reversing out of a driveway on Woodpark Rd, Woodpark, where police tried to block the sportscar from driving away.
They removed the 17-year-old passenger from the car and he allegedly resisted and assaulted a female officer before running away.
The dramatic footage was captured on the Only in Guildford Facebook page.
While officers attempted to access the driver’s side of the Ferrari, the driver allegedly sped away from the scene.
The 17-year-old passenger was located nearby and arrested before being taken to Granville police station.
He was charged with steal property in dwelling-house, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence – in company- steal more than $60,000, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, resist officer in execution of duty, assault police officer in execution of duty, and two counts of enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse.
The teen was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday, when he pleaded not guilty. He was remanded in custody after bail was refused.
The Mercedes was found abandoned on Broughton St, Guildford, where it was seized for forensic examination.
About 6pm, Mt Druitt police attended Hagen Place, Whalan, for an unrelated matter and found the Ferrari parked on the street.
A short time later, the Ford Ranger was found parked nearby on Kurama Cres.
Both cars were seized and will undergo forensic examination.
Burwood detectives continue the investigation.
