A man has fronted court after police seized cocaine, licences and cash at a South Granville warehouse as part of an investigation into an alleged GBL drug ring that has led to more than 1000kg of the drug — with a street value of $8.5 million — being seized across Sydney.

Blair Athol man Nihaal Divij Raju, 35, appeared via video link at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday after he and a 32-year-old man were arrested at the Wellington Rd storage facility yesterday at 1.15pm.

Police allege the men drove into the facility before investigators searched the car and allegedly uncovered 252kg of GBL, fraudulent driver's licences, about 150 grams of cocaine, cash, mobile phones and SIM cards.

Court papers allege Raju supplied 234kg of a prohibited drug, cocaine, dealt with the proceeds of crime worth $16,665 and possessed four drivers’ licences, including one from Victoria.

He has been charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a commercial drug, supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, possessing identify information to commit an indictable offence and dealing with the proceeds of crime and possessing a prohibited drug.

The 32-year-old man was charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime and possessing a prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on July 22.

The men’s arrest yesterday follows a string of charges that has led police to seize more than 1000kg of GBL since Friday following a car stop at Yurong St, Darlinghurst.

A 37-year-old driver was charged after police allegedly found 27kg of GBL, methylamphetamine (ice), $20,000 and electronic devices and documents allegedly linked to the supply of prohibited drugs during a search of his Toyota Corolla.

He appeared before Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday, where he was formally refused bail. The man is set to reappear before Central Local Court on July 7.

As part of the investigation, detectives also searched Regents Park factory where they seized 724kg of GBL before another 56kg of the drug was seized at a Hunters Hill unit on Tuesday — when police also dismantled a clandestine laboratory in the home.

A bail application for Raju was withdrawn and he was ordered to return to Parramatta Local Court on July 16.
