North Parramatta man Jason Joseph Khalil, who has been charged with more than 20 firearms and drug offences after police raided his Bellevue St home, has faced court on Friday.
Strike Force Raptor detectives seized items including two rifles, a shot gun, pistol and allegedly found two council signs, which were possibly street signs, during a raid of the 35-year-old’s home on May 8.
Firearms seized included a loaded 0.22 rifle with obliterated serial numbers, a shotgun, an action rifle and a revolver containing six rounds of ammunition.
Drugs including 209.9g of heroin, 64.1g of methylamphetamine and 51g of cocaine were also allegedly found as part of the Strike Force Raptor investigation.
Khalil – who is listed as the business owner of JK’s Earthworx — was charged with 22 offences including three counts each of possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm and not keeping the firearms safely.
He was also charged with three counts of supplying a prohibited drug and possessing a prescribed restricted substance — Naltrexone tablets — that were prescribed under another man’s name.
At Parramatta Local Court today, Khalil appeared on video and there was no application for bail. The matter will return to court on May 22 when a release application will be made.
A full briefing for the court will be prepared by July 9.
