Whether you were a footy first grader or entertainment legend, a visit to a Parramatta sports shop often meant a photo op with its celebrated owner. Check out our picture gallery of the iconic business.

When Eels great Peter Wynn decided to start a business while still playing first grade, his fan base on the field soon became his customer base when Peter Wynn’s Score debuted at Church St in 1988.

Not only has the store been a magnet for athletes and fans needing new gear, but a chance to catch up with Wynn, who has been more than happy to snap a pic with fans accompanied by his signature thumbs up.

This week, Wynn announced the store would relocate in Parramatta to make way for the five-star InterContinental Hotel. For many, the change has evoked a string of memories created over more than three decades.

Wynn was in good spirits on January 23 after announcing the shop would relocate within the Parramatta CBD.

Peter and Linda Wynn will celebrate 40 years of marriage in December after meeting at Parramatta Leagues Club.
