A $3.27 million housing project at South Granville is helping vulnerable seniors living in western Sydney settle into a comfortable home, the State Government says.
Parramatta state Liberal MP Geoff Lee said the seniors housing project at the corner of Pegler Ave and Rundle St would house 10 elderly residents and helped meet the high demands for priority housing in the community.
“The homes were designed to the highest standards and purposefully located close to
local shops, transport links and essential services,” Mr Lee said.
“The construction of the homes has also helped support 18 local jobs and provided a
timely economic boost to the local economy.”
Housing Minister Melinda Pavey said the government was undertaking the biggest social housing program in the country and the South Granville development, delivered by the Land and Housing Corporation, was a contemporary drawcard.
“We’ve replaced ageing stand-alone cottages on a large site zoned for medium density
with modern, energy efficient homes that are safe and accessible for older people, and
architecturally designed to reflect the vision and values of the local community,” Mrs
Pavey said.
