After two years of construction, Darcy St at Parramatta will reopen to traffic and pedestrians on Saturday, November 30.

The changes are part of the $2.7 billion Parramatta Square development and will see tenants shortly move into 4 Parramatta Square.

Walker Corporation CEO David Gallant told the Parramatta Advertiser in July that more than 90 per cent of the 65,000sq m space had been leased to government agencies including the Planning Department and State Revenue, which were relocating to the tower.

The Darcy St changes mean it will be one way from Smith St to Church St.

Commuters can leave Parramatta train station via Darcy St to reach the 4 Parramatta Square tower.

The exit from the station to the Argyle St bus interchange will reopen in the morning peak hour.

An underground retail link from the station to the square will open shortly afterwards.

Pedestrians heading to Macquarie St from the square will be able to reach the walkway between 3 Parramatta Square and Western Sydney University once the link is open.

But access from platform one off Station St will be closed permanently from next month.

Parramatta Square is one of the country’s largest urban renewal projects to comprise 23,000 workers and be sprawled across three hectares.

The redevelopment’s towers 6 and 8 is the largest office building in Australia by gross floor area.
