Parramatta Park cafe Georgie Boy now open

Milo and rosewater milkshakes, chickpea and halloumi bowls, and pulled beef brisket burgers — a new park cafe goes beyond the kiosk-style fare you would expect in the great outdoors.

Parramatta Park cafe Georgie Boy is surprising visitors with its “phenomenal” menu that goes beyond kiosk-style food.

The adventurous dishes are most likely because the team behind esteemed Parramatta cafe Circa Espresso also runs Georgie Boy, which means the park cafe already has a fan base.

“It almost looks like a mini Circa,’’ Circa Espresso’s Anthony Nohra said.

“We do a halloumi burger and a chickpea medley done in this delicious tomato gravy and it’s served with a soft-boiled egg and salad.

“With us, we’re offering different things … it’s the way we do it as a point of difference.’’

The Milo rosewater milkshake is also making a comeback at Georgie Boy, which opened on the site formerly occupied by the Grounds Keeper Cafe

“It was something we used to do at Circa many, many years ago and I think a lot of people are going to be so excited,’’ Nohra said.

“We’re also doing a lot of sourdough waffles.”

Of course, cyclists, walkers and picnickers can expect top notch coffee, albeit a slightly different taste to what the Circa baristas brew.

“Circa’s coffee is very delicate and light, this is a lot darker and bold in flavour but it’s still phenomenal, ’’ Nohra said.
