The state government is seeking expressions of interest for suitable sites to build ambulance stations across the state, including Dundas Valley, as part of its $615.5m ambulance infrastructure program.
Each year, NSW Ambulance receives more than 1.1 million triple-0 calls for assistance and ambulances travel more than 46 million kilometres.
As part of the program, Health Infrastructure is working with NSW Ambulance to identify potential sites at Dundas Valley and surrounding areas for extra ambulance stations.
Other locations open for expressions of interest include Unanderra, East Maitland and Colo Vale.
A process for potential land sites has already been undertaken at Cherrybrook, Kincumber, Raby, Edgeworth, Glenmore Park, Dee Why, Sutherland, Bargo, Berkeley Vale and Doonside.
Health Minister Ryan Park said nominated sites would undergo a thorough evaluation to ensure they were located at places which optimised ambulance response times.
The infrastructure rollout for the program is progressing, with land already purchased for new stations at North Sydney, South Windsor, Oran Park and Berowra.
“These new ambulance stations will bolster emergency care for growing communities across the state and provide a first-class purpose-built workplace for our hardworking paramedics,’’ Mr Park said.
