Police are appealing for information from the public — specifically the driver of a silver sedan — after two girls aged 11 and 13 were struck by a vehicle at Merrylands.
About 3pm yesterday, a black Holden Colorado was travelling south along Davies St Merrylands and collided with a white Toyota Corolla at the intersection at Morris St.
The collision caused the black utility to mount the kerb, hitting two pedestrians walking along Davies St.
The pedestrians, a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl were rushed to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the white Corolla, a 44-year-old female, was taken to Westmead Hospital with minor injuries.
Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit officers attended and completed an investigation of the scene.
The driver of the black Colorado, a 51-year-old man, returned a negative breath test and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Police are appealing for information from the public who may have witnessed this incident. Specifically, the driver of a silver sedan that may have been at the intersection of Davies and Morris streets at the time of the crash.
