Two pedestrians struck at Davies St, Merrylands

Two girls, aged 11 and 13, were hit after a car struck them while they were walking on a footpath at Merrylands. The female driver was also taken to hospital.

Two girls, aged 11 and 13, were rushed to hospital a car struck them while they were walking on a footpath at Merrylands. The female driver was also taken to hospital.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said emergency crews rushed to the intersection of Davies and Morris streets shortly after one a two-car crash.

“The vehicle caused one of the vehicles to veer into the footpath, colliding with the girls,’’ the spokeswoman said.

The 11-year-old girl suffered injuries to her left leg and the 13-year-old also suffered leg injuries.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said both children had head and facial injuries and were rushed to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead where they are in a stable condition.

A female driver was taken to Westmead Hospital.

Eight ambulance crews rushed to the scene.
