Man stabbed at Granville all ages event

THOUSANDS of people replied to an open invite for a western Sydney Halloween party, but police are now asking for them to come forward after a brawl broke out, and a man stabbed.

THOUSANDS of people who attended a Halloween party in Granville’s Blouza Hall are being asked to come forward to police after a man was stabbed outside the all ages event.

A man was left seriously injured after he was stabbed during in a violent brawl in South Granville. Police discovered the 20-year-old at a park in on the corner of Clyde St and Bennett Rd just after midnight.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was rushed to hospital.

Police claim the man has not been co-operating in answering questions about the brawl, instead, hoping partygoers will come forward.

The fight is said to have broken out after attendees of the No Limits Halloween Party left the hall heading west towards Dellwood Shopping Centre.

Police believe two groups of men were involved in the brawl after they were kicked out of the party.

This is not the first time a brawl has taken place on Bennett Rd, with a man in his 20s shot in the arm on the street in June this year.

CCTV footage shows the victim being chased by up to five attackers, before being slashed with a machete.

Chief Inspector Clive Ainley from Cumberland police said the man was in a stable condition.

“He has a quite serious injury, not life threatening,” Insp. Ainley said.

“There’s all these other ways to gather evidence and we’re looking at all these avenues of gathering that evidence and we’ll get to the bottom of it.”

The victim was released from Westmead Hospital yesterday with minor injuries.
