How to: get a slice of Parramatta Stadium in your own backyard
PARRAMATTA Stadium is going to be auctioned off bit-by-bit. So whether you want a seat or an old pair of forgotten jocks, it can all go straight to the pool room. It’s almost all for sale bar the Hayne Plane.

IT'S the turf that has been trodden on by the likes of Peter Sterling and Jarryd Hayne, had the dainty footsteps of the Queen and the moonwalk of the king of pop.
Now, you too could take a walk on the hallowed turf of Parramatta Stadium in your own backyard.
Footy fans and entertainment buffs have the once in a lifetime chance to take home a piece of Parramatta Stadium’s history in an auction of memorabilia next week.
Items range from seats to light poles, bay numbers to pop up marquees; there’s something for every fan’s pool room, no matter the size.
The auction comes as the decommissioning process begins at the stadium this week, to make way for construction of a new 30,000 seat Western Sydney Stadium.
NSW Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres confirmed demolition would begin in the coming months despite concerns of asbestos contamination.
“Site preparations start now and you will see physical demolition early in the new year,” he said.
“A lot of the things in the stadium we want to reuse in other parts of the state.
“Parramatta Stadium has had a special place in Western Sydney’s history, and now Eels and Wanderers fans and major event lovers can take home their special piece of history.”
Sporting clubs and community facilities are encouraged to get bidding for items like lockers, flag poles and fire extinguishers in a unique chance to repurpose essential items.
But if you are just a lover of the game and want to piece of the turf at home, there’s plenty to go round too.
Individual fans are asked to register their interest in a piece of turf or a seat by emailing info@pirtekstadium.com by Sunday, November 27 for collection in early December.
Sporting clubs can register to apply for larger items by Friday, December 2.
And an online auction will be held on Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7 for remaining items ranging from stainless steel benches to lockers at www.omaras.com.au.
