If you take a trip to Toongabbie at lunch time, you will find dozens of people in a small takeaway shop tucking into silver trays laden with rice, meat, vegetables, bread and pastries.

XDream on Aurelia St in Toongabbie has become a local hotspot for great quality but affordable Sri Lankan, Indian and Malaysian food.

The restaurant was opened by a group of friends about four years ago and has been busy since as it gained a reputation for its delicious food, cheap prices, generous portions and cheerful dining space.

Whether you fancy an Indian curry, Sri Lankan kothu roti or nasi goreng, the huge X Dream menu has something to suit.

Lunch specials range in price from $8 for two vegetarian choices with rice or roti through to $15 for four meat choices, while an array of snacks and sides like dosa, puttu, naan, roti and hoppers cost between $1 and $12.

XDream is open six days a week (closed on Tuesdays) from 7am-10pm.
