Two sisters involved in an ugly dispute over a carpark space in western Sydney have been convicted for pulling a stranger to the ground and punching her multiple times, after the victim’s mum stood in a parking spot to reserve it.
Anastasia Tuigamala, 22, and Sandy Tuigamala, 27, both from Smithfield, were sentenced at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday for common assault.
The sisters were both convicted and fined $1000 over the incident, which unfolded at a carpark in Guildford on Friday, April 19.
Police facts stated a woman was standing in a vacant parking space at Campbell Hill Pioneer Reserve while her daughter was attempting to park.
The two sisters drove up to the parking space and had a short conversation with the woman before finding another space.
However, they returned to confront the woman and her adult daughter, and Anastasia yelled to the victim “who the f**k do you think you are reserving a parking spot”.
Following an argument, the sisters pushed the older woman out of the way and assaulted the daughter, forcing her to the ground and punching her in the back of the head a total of six times.
They then walked off before police were called and spoke to them.
Magistrate Kathy Crittenden labelled the incident as “hard to comprehend”.

“You are both relatively young and have no convictions for matters of violence,” she said.
“All the material before me tells me that you endeavour to be constructive members of the community in all that you do … and that is what makes this all the more difficult to comprehend.”
Both sisters work to support their family, the court was told.
The defence said the two sisters were incensed after the victim allegedly insulted their father.
