Ermington woman claims $11.7 million Lotto prize
A woman who was oblivious to winning $11.7 million Lotto prize has finally come forward after realising she was “the lucky bastard” that bought the golden ticket from her local newsagency. This is how she plans her moolah.

An Ermington woman plans to use her $11.7 million Lotto prize to pay off her mortgage, buy a new car and retire from work after finally discovering she was the lucky winner.
The woman bought the unregistered ticket in the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1476 from Ermington newsagency, newsXpress.
The winning entry was drawn on January 30 but she did not realise she won it until February 4.
The ecstatic woman told a NSW Lotteries official she never thought she would be a multi-millionaire.
“I went into the newsagency and I saw someone had won the jackpot prize,’’ she said.
“I thought ‘you lucky bastard’. Then I checked my ticket and I realised I’m the lucky bastard!
“I am completely shocked. I didn’t even know the jackpot had gone off.
“I called my hubby straight away and he didn’t believe me, he thought I was joking. He was glad when I told him I wasn’t!”
Ermington Newsagency employee Regina Young said the outlet was thrilled the winning customer had checked her ticket.
“It’s just wonderful,’’ she said.
“She came into the newsagency and I checked her ticket and realised she was the winner.
“She thought I was kidding. But when she realised I wasn’t she was shaking, she was crying. I was emotional as well.
“I sold her the winning ticket as well. It’s unbelievable.
“We are so very happy for her. We all wish her the best with her prize.”
She hopes it is now the start of a winning streak at the Betty Cuthbert Ave shops.
“It’s created a great atmosphere and our customers are so excited for us,’’ she said.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1 million for draw 1477 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.32 million for draw 10349.
