Granville MP Julia Finn is waiting to learn if she has coronavirus after being in contact with a woman in her 20s who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Tuesday night.
The state Labor MP said the constituent had not travelled from overseas but was ill despite her age.
“They are quite sick,’’ she said.
“It’s scary. It’s terrible but if she hadn’t been sick she would have just been around infecting people everywhere.’’
Ms Finn undertook a test at a Blacktown pathologist yesterday at 7.30am when about 30 masked people were waiting to have a test.
Some people, like herself, undertook the takeaway swab test before leaving it in the clinic, which is expected to contact her with the results on Monday afternoon or Tuesday.
She has been ensconced in her Rosehill home with her husband and dog, Knox.
“My symptoms are not the most common symptoms,’’ she said.
“I’ve just had a runny nose and sore throat. It’s not like a dry sore throat, it’s just like a cold.
“Since I found out I’ve just stayed home and my husband has no symptoms.’’
