Braith Anasta would not be the man he is today without the women in his life, so his decision to join Priceline Pharmacy’s “Misterhood for the Sisterhood” campaign was a no-brainer.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging people to raise $1.5 million for the Priceline Pharmacy Sisterhood Foundation with the help of six of Australia’s greatest sportsmen.

Fronted by cricket legend Merv Hughes, the campaign’s ‘Misters’ include Anasta, fellow former NRL star Billy Moore and AFL greats Glen Jakovich, Dermott Brereton and Tony Modra.

Alongside Sydney Sixers WBBL players Lauren Smith and Stella Campbell, Anasta spent several hours at Carlingford Court on Sunday meeting with fans and supporters and encouraging people to donate.

“I got involved because I am extremely passionate about women’s health and making sure that as a male, I take a level of responsibility that the women in my life are looked after,” Anasta said.

“I have an amazing mother who has been affected by breast cancer. I have a beautiful partner, Rachael, who looks after our three kids and is the best mother they could ever ask for.

“I also have two daughters, so the women in my life are my everything.”

The 37-year-old said men across the country owed it to the women in their lives to get involved with the campaign.

“I think it’s very important that men really get behind this great initiative and really show our support for the women in our life and for women in general,” he said.

Anasta played with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Sydney Roosters and Wests Tigers throughout his career.

“We wouldn’t be the same without the women in our lives and I feel like if men can support women in any way we should.

“A lot of women need our help and it’s up to us to man up.”

Money raised from the 2019 Misterhood for the Sisterhood Campaign will be donated to this year’s charity partners: Look Good Feel Better, Children First Foundation, PANDA, Dementia Australia and RAISE.

To get involved head to your local Priceline Pharmacy from July 19 to August 29 and purchase a $2 scratchie for a one in two chance of winning a prize.

Direct donations can also be made in store or online at priceline.com.au/sisterhood
