Australian celebrity Eric Bana named Tropfest 2019 judge
Dirty John star and Australia’s favourite actor Eric Bana has been announced as the celebrity judge for short film festival Tropfest.
Australian actor Eric Bana will make his way to Parramatta next weekend to judge Tropfest.
Tropfest announced today the actor - famous for films including Hulk, Troy and Munich - will join the judging panel.
Australian comedian Rob Shehadie was announced as the host of the event.
Bana joins a long line up of prestigious Tropfest judges — previous panellists include Susan Sarandon, Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, and Naomi Watts.
“I’m really looking forwarding to attending my first Tropfest and excited to see the raft of fresh, original ideas and works from our young emerging filmmaking talent,” Bana said.
The annual short film competition, which is free to attend, will be held at Parramatta Park on Saturday, February 9, starting with the screening of 16 Trop Jr short-listed films at 4.45pm followed by the 16 Tropfest finalists.
For those who can’t make it on the day, Facebook will stream all 16 Tropfest finalist films on Facebook Watch from 4pm on Sunday, February 10.
