Shute Shield 2020: Two Blues ball boy Jordan Goddard, brother Harrison Goddard with Gordon rugby
Each Saturday as a kid Gordon captain Jordan Goddard would wear the jersey of his father’s Shute Shield rugby club with pride. Last Saturday he helped orchestrate their defeat in round two.

As a kid Jordan Goddard would watch his dad play for the Two Blues each Saturday then race into the dressing sheds and sing the club song with the team.
A ball boy for the Western Sydney club from the age of five, he wore his jersey emblazoned with the Two Blues emblem with pride.
Now, more than two decades on, Goddard lead his bother and fellow teammates at Gordon to their second win of the Shute Shield season against his father’s old team.

“I remember walking up and down the sidelines and then jumping into the change room, singing the song and pinching all the lollies and Powerades I could find,” said the now 28-year-old captain of Gordon who lives in The Hills district.
“Dad played at the Two Blues in the 80s and 90s so a little bit of my heart is still there.
“I played Colts and grade there my first year out of school as well before going to Eastwood and now Gordon since 2015.”
Goddard said father Glenn, who won two Shute Shield Premierships with the Two Blues in 1985 and 1986, is a big supporter of he and his brother in rugby.

Off the field Goddard works in education as an Aboriginal engagement co-ordinator for TAFE NSW.
He has previously been involved with Rugby Australia, working a an Aboriginal sevens co-ordinator.
“We’ve got a couple of the lads at Gordon, there’s about eight of us,” he said.
“For me I have had really good experiences in rugby. All my fiends, work opportunities etc.
“It’s about giving another pathway for people.
“It’s such a good game. I have had such good experiences.”
Goddard scored a try and his brother Harrison two in the Highlanders whopping 64-0 defeat of the two Blues in round two.
Gordon have the bye in round three.
