Much-loved institution Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre has enforced new measures amid the ongoing health crisis.
Starting from today all swimming lessons have been suspended and spa, steam room and sauna facilities have been closed to the public.
While swimming will still be allowed for lap swimmers, the waves and children’s slide will also not be operating.
It comes after prime minister Scott Morrison announced non-essential gatherings in indoor buildings are to be limited to 100 people or less.
“The City of Ryde has also put in place a number of proactive measures at the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre in the interest of staff and community safety,” according to a council statement.
“It will continue to monitor the situation closely and seek advice from state and federal authorities.”
