Nicole Cartwright: Dennis Pietrobon allegedly bashed in jail cell
The man accused of killing Sydney woman Nicole Cartwright, whose body was found in a Hunters Hill park, has allegedly been bashed in his cell in Parklea jail. A Hells Angels bikie has been charged.

Hells Angel bikie John Gavellas has been charged after allegedly attacking Dennis Pietrobon – who is accused of killing Sydney woman Nicole Cartwright before dumping her body in Hunters Hill.
Gavellas was charged after 51-year-old Pietrobon was found with multiple head and neck injuries in his Parklea Correctional Centre jail cell on June 30.
On July 23, Strike Force Raptor detectives arrested 22-year-old Gavellas at Silverwater prison and charged him with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
At Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday, Mr Gavellas was refused bail and the matter was adjourned to September 8.
Pietrobon, a divorced father of two, was charged with murdering Lansvale woman Nicole Cartwright on her 32nd birthday on October 1 after meeting her online.
Police allege he killed her at his Haberfield home and partially wrapped her decomposed body in a sheet before dumping the corpse at Buffalo Creek Reserve, Hunters Hill, on October 3, 2018, when a council worker made the grisly discovery.
Ms Cartwright’s wrists were bound and she had suffered head injuries.
After an investigation of almost two years police arrested Pietrobon on May 27 and charged him with murder.
The matter is still before the courts.
