Epping’s skyline is set to be transformed by a 29-storey seniors living skyscraper.

Levande has just begun construction on this ambitious residential development, with plans valued at $200 million, after acquiring property developer Stockland’s 58 retirement villages and associated development sites.

The seniors living skyscraper will be located at 29-33 Oxford St and 6-14 Cambridge St, Epping — approximately 300 metres north of Epping Station and 500 metres west of Epping Public School.

The site is part of the Catholic parish of Epping and Carlingford and is currently home to Our Lady Help of Christians, Catholic Primary School and Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic heritage church.

As part of the development, a new Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Primary School will also be built on this site.

Levande’s CEO, Suzanne Dvorak, said her vision is for this residential project to become “a true community hub”.

“It will connect the generations – the independent seniors in our lifestyle living apartments, residents in aged care, community members and primary students will live, work and attend school alongside each (other),” Ms Dvorak said.

When complete, the tower will be 29-storeys in height.

“The design of this community presents an opportunity in which independent living is co-located with aged care, where partners at different life stages will be able to live comfortably together within the same building, and where there is connectivity between the two levels of care.

“This will keep families connected at home and allow residents to age-in-place together.”

When complete, the senior living skyscraper will stand 29-storeys high and contain 172 separate residential apartments.

There will also be a clubhouse featuring a cinema, bar and billiards room, a gym with a heated indoor swimming pool, a rooftop terrace with BBQs and a private dining room for residents.

Alongside the tower, the development will include a 132-bed residential aged care community together with a retail space, a 200-seat parish hall, the new primary school, out-of-school-hours care and basement carparking.

On the ground level of this development there will be a communal space shared by all users of the site and catering to activities for the aged care and retirement residents, as well as the school children, the parish, and the wider community.

Construction begun earlier this month.

It is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2024.
