IT will be the showdown between Warringah’s Batman and The Joker from Sydney University this afternoon in the Superhero Saturday clash at Rat Park

On one side is star Rats halfback Josh Holmes on the other is Tom Carter, Uni’s ultra-competitive centre who always has a trick or two up his sleeve and is typecast as the villain with opposition teams and supporters.

“Batman” and “The Joker” have a long association as both teammates at the NSW Waratahs and as rivals.

“I think he is good for club rugby because over the years he has never lost his competitiveness and it just shows how passionate he is for his club,” Holmes said.

“To this day every time he takes the field he plays to win and that is a good trait.

“You hate playing against him just because he is always talking but you love to play with because he brings a lot of energy to the team and that can really help.”

And Holmes expects to be a target for “The Joker’s” attentions this afternoon.

“I’ve known Tommy for about 10 years now since I came into Shute Shield and he gave me lip back then and I’m sure he won’t change tomorrow,” he said.

Holmes makes a welcome return to the Rats today after being with the Australian Sevens squad and the team has certainly his attacking super powers.

Fans are encouraged to come their favourite super hero today and with prizes for the best dressed.
