MANLY United don’t have to look far for inspiration ahead of Saturday’s clash with Bonnyrigg.

They beat the White Eagles in the Waratah Cup a few weeks ago, and are hoping history repeats itself.

The home side have an embarrassment of riches on their team sheet, namely former Sydney midfielder Terry McFlynn and striker Robbie Younis.

“It won’t be easy, they are a class team,’’ Manly captain Graeme Forbes said this week.

“But a win isn’t impossible, we beat them in the Cup and they sent out a decent team that night.

“Even though results haven’t gone our way in recent weeks we are playing much better football. We are just lacking some killer instinct in front of goal.”

Kick-off at the Bonnyrigg Sports Club is 7.30pm.

Chris Williams’ women are at home on Sunday afternoon against Blacktown Spartans.

Skipper Gemma O’Toole expects to be battered and bruised at full-time, with the away side known for rough tactics.

“You know you have been involved in a game of football whenever you play them,’’ she said.

“Good luck to them, that is how they are coached and that style of play can work sometimes. We drew with them at their place earlier this season, we view it as two points dropped.

“Also, all the girls know last Sunday (a 7-0 loss versus Macarthur) wasn’t good enough. We will look to bounce back in a big way at home.”
