Crows Nest developer hits out at Sydney Metro plans
A PROPERTY developer whose development was scrapped to make way for one of Sydney’s new metro stations has hit out at the State Government for keeping him in the dark about the latest plans.

A PROPERTY developer has hit out at the State Government for keeping it in the dark about the latest Sydney Metro plans.
Several buildings are to be demolished to make way for two new stations at North Sydney and Crows Nest.
A multimillion-dollar development on the Pacific Hwy at Crows Nest had to be scrapped as it was on the land earmarked for the station.
In the latest development, Transport for NSW has put out a call to figure out what it could do with the space above some of the proposed metro stations.
And Wyndel Property Group, the owner of the development site at Crows Nest, said it was never contacted about this.
“It’s disappointing — you can own the land and don’t even get told that,” said chief executive Tony Blanche
“We wouldn’t expect to get any advantage but you’d think we’d get first refusal on the same commercial terms as anyone else.”
The company is still negotiating a deal on the land with the State Government.
He was told that the government had no plans for anything above the stations.
The company’s 479 residential and retail development would have been worth about $15 million.
A spokeswoman for Transport for NSW said the purchase of the land and the investigation into the feasibility of oversite development were separate issues.
“This process involves an open tender to allow the community and other interested parties to have their say during any such planning process,” she said. Like the Mosman Daily on Facebook.
